Xavier Bertrand called for an increase in the presidential term in France to 6 years

The head of the Hauts-de-France region and a possible candidate for the presidency of France in the 2022 elections, Xavier Bertrand, called on the French authorities to introduce a six-year presidential term instead of the current five-year one so that the heads of state are not obsessed with re-election. In an interview with Le Monde, France, Bertrand said he feared the Americanization of the political system in France, and explained that if the president wanted to fix anything during the mandate, he simply did not have time to do it because he was obsessed with re-election. Recall, on September 21, Bertrand announced that he would not hide behind others in the 2022 presidential election. He confirmed that he would not return to the Republican Party and planned to remain an independent candidate. The former Minister of Labor, Employment and Health is ready to become a truly people's president in order to return peace and confidence to the inhabitants of France.
