The expert explained why the story with Navalny and Novice was needed
Political statements from Germany regarding the involvement of the Russian authorities in the poisoning of blogger Alexei Navalny with a substance similar to a component from the combat substance Novichok is a provocation that is aimed at destroying Russian-German relations. About this writes the Norwegian columnist Paul Steigan on his blog. The most plausible version is a provocation to spoil relations between Russia and Germany in a desperate attempt to stop Nord Stream 2, he notes. Steigan recalled that the story of Navalny is developing in the same spirit as in the case of former GRU employee Sergei Skripal and his daughter Julia poisoned in Salisbury. Then, recall, the UK made one political statement after another, without supporting them with any evidence. The result was the introduction of anti-Russian sanctions, which are valid to this day. Steigan also explained that if Navalny had indeed been poisoned by Novice, he would have been already dead, and the crew of the plane and other passengers on the flight to Berlin would have suffered with him.
