Inflation growth in Belarus for the year exceeded 5%


The consumer price index for goods and services in June 2020 compared to May 2020 amounted to 100.2%, from December 2019 103.4%, the National Statistical Committee of Belarus reports. Belstat also noted that the basic consumer price index, which excludes changes in prices for certain goods and services affected by administrative and seasonal factors, in June compared to May amounted to 99.95%, from December 2019, 102.3%. According to Belstat, annual inflation increased by 5.2% (June 2020 compared to June 2019). At the same time, prices for food products were increased by 3.2%, for non-food products by 4.4% and for services by 7%. In January-June 2020, inflation increased by 4.9%. At the same time, prices for food products were increased by 4.1%, for non-food products by 4.4% and for services by 7.1%. Compared to December 2019, inflation growth turned out to be more modest than prices were increased by 3.4%.
