Austria considers Kosovo and the Balkans policy priorities

On July 27, Speaker of the Kosovo Parliament Viosa Osmani met with Austrian Ambassador to Kosovo Christoph Weidinger. According to the Albanian news agency Telegrafi, politicians discussed the problems of bilateral cooperation. Special attention was paid to the fields of education, inter-parliamentary cooperation and the management of the epidemiological situation in the pandemic. COVID-19 Speaker of the Kosovo parliament Osmani thanked the representative of Austria for the funds provided to Kosovo under the UN program for the purchase of tests for coronavirus, as well as for helping to strengthen the statehood of the region and its institutions. In response, Weidinger emphasized that Kosovo and the Western Balkans are a priority area of ​ ​ Austrian foreign policy and that Vienna will continue to cooperate with Pristina in order to facilitate the entry of Kosovo and other countries of the region into the EU.
