WP: Russia's alleged collusion with the Taliban led to the death of the US military

Several US troops died in Afghanistan due to the fact that Afghan militants were offered a reward for the murder of Americans. The proposal allegedly came from Russia, The Washington Post reported on June 28, citing anonymous sources in the US administration. The publication notes that the US special services came to the conclusion about Russia's attempts to negotiate with representatives of the radical Taliban movement (an organization whose activities are banned in the Russian Federation) after interrogating captured militants. At the same time, it is not yet known exactly how many military personnel from the United States or other coalition countries could be killed or attacked under this program. Intelligence transmitted the information received to Washington, in March at the White House this information was discussed in a private meeting. It is alleged that representatives of the US administration offered to respond to Russia by imposing sanctions or expressing dissatisfaction through diplomatic channels. Earlier, the claim that one of the units of Russian military intelligence prompted Afghan militants to attack the US military appeared in The New York Times. According to the news agency, the Russian Foreign Ministry called this publication an unreliable propaganda stuffing.
