In Ukraine, again suspected Yanukovych of treason
Former President of Ukraine Viktor Yanukovych and two ex-ministers of defense of the country Dmitry Salamatin and Pavel Lebedev are suspected of treason. This was announced on June 24 in the press service of the State Bureau of Investigation (GBR) of Ukraine. They (Yanukovych, Salamatin and Lebedev) are suspected of committing high treason (part 1 of article 111 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (as amended on April 5, 2001), the agency said. It is noted that if the guilt of the suspects is proved, they face a sentence of imprisonment for a term of 12 to 15 years with confiscation of property. According to the news agency, Ukraine accuses ex-president Viktor Yanukovych of treason, changing state borders and many other allegedly committed crimes. The criminal prosecution of the politician began after the coup in Ukraine in 2014.
