Head of Turkmenistan ordered officials to monitor energy projects more carefully

President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov held a meeting on the development of the electric power industry with the participation of Deputy Prime Minister Shamukhammet Durdylyev and Energy Minister Charmymyrat Purchekov. This is reported by the press service of the Head of State. The Turkmen leader noted that the Turkmen energy industry is now showing a steadily high rate of development and is able not only to meet the domestic needs of the country, but also to meet the growing volumes of electricity exports. High-ranking officials then reported on the implementation of Berdimuhamedov's instructions to increase the capacity of the country's energy facilities. According to Purchekov, several gas turbine power plants have been built both in the capital of Turkmenistan and in its regions in recent years, as well as the implementation of the TAPI gas pipeline project, which will allow the export of Turkmen natural gas through Afghanistan to Pakistan and India, and TAP power lines, which will facilitate the supply of electricity from Turkmenistan to Afghanistan and Pakistan. In turn, President Berdimuhamedov focused on the importance of developing the energy industry and instructed officials to ensure strict control over the progress of energy projects.
