Third round of dialogue between leading scientists of the USA and China took place
The third round of dialogue between leading scientists China and the USA took place in Beijing from May 12 to May 13 through videoconferencing, the agency Xinhua reports. About 30 eminent Chinese and American scientists from different fields of science actively discussed issues of Sino-American relations against the background of the COVID-19 pandemic, having held a number of exchanges within the framework of the dialogue. Scientists stressed that the epidemic of the new coronavirus is the largest threat to all mankind today. Scientists expressed confidence that China and the United States, as the two largest countries with the largest world influence, should strengthen interaction and coordination in the interests of the two peoples and the world as a whole. The academic community of the two countries should actively engage in dialogue between the two countries in the interests of bilateral cooperation, playing a constructive role in the development of healthy relations between China and the United States, scientists concluded. The dialogue was conducted jointly by the Institute of American Studies at the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences and the Paul Tsai China Center at Yale University.
