Fishermen from the DPRK accused of attacking Russian border guards in Primorye

The investigation of the criminal case against three DPRK citizens accused of attacking Russian border guards has been completed by investigators in the Maritime Territory. This is reported on May 22 by the press service of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation. The Main Investigation Department of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation has completed the investigation of the criminal case against citizens of the DPRK Hwang Yong Sik, Chhven Song and Park Myung-jin. They were accused of using violence against Russian FSB border officials in the Maritime Region. The investigation collected evidence, criminal cases with indictments were sent to the court for further consideration. The investigation of 14 other foreign nationals who jointly attacked border guards is under way. We remind that the FSB Border Guard on the Maritime Region detained in September 2019 in the Japanese Sea a fishing vessel flying the flag of the DPRK, the crew of which was engaged in illegal fishing of squid. While escorting the vessel to the port of Nadodka, 17 crew members of the fishing vessel attacked the border guards, armed with sticks. Three crew members struck border guards, causing moderate harm to their health.
