Over the past 24 hours, 636 people have died of coronavirus in Italy, 6 Borrelli, the country's civil defence chief, said at a briefing on April 6. He said the total number of deaths after that was 16,523. Borelli recalled that 523 people died of coronavirus on 5 April in the country and 681 on 4 April. So far, 93,187 people have been infected, Borrelli said at a briefing and noted that 65% of them remain in home isolation with or without mild symptoms of the disease. Including those who died and recovered, Borelli said, a total of 132.5 cases of coronavirus infection have been identified in Italy.
