Turkey's military kills eight Kurdish rebels in Iraq

Turkey's armed forces neutralized eight members of the Kurdistan Workers 'Party during a special operation in northern Iraq, Anadolu Ajansi reported on March 28. The incident took place in North Dahouh Province, where Kurdish rebels had shelters. The term neutralized is often used by the Turkish military as a euphemism behind which the physical elimination of the enemy is concealed. Recall, the Kurdistan Workers 'Party is considered a terrorist organization in Turkey and its activities in the country are prohibited. For more than 30 years, Kurds have fought for the right to have their own autonomy within the state. More than 40,000 people were killed during the bloody clashes.
